Custom jewellery sounds complicated. It is not. Here is exactly how a made-to-order piece comes together in Dubai, from first idea to delivery — whether you're commissioning an engagement ring, reworking an heirloom, or building something entirely your own.
1. Start with a design
Begin with one of our existing CAD designs as a starting point, or bring your own reference — a photo from Pinterest or Instagram, a sketch, or even a description of what you have in mind. You do not need technical drawings or jewellery knowledge; a clear idea of the style, and roughly how you want it to feel, is enough for our designers to start from.
2. Choose your materials
Pick your metal — 18K, 21K or 22K gold, or platinum and sterling silver for some designs — and your stone: a natural or lab-grown diamond, or a coloured gemstone, each available with independent GIA or IGI certification. Every choice affects the final price, which we confirm up front before any work begins, so there are no surprises later.
3. Approve the quote and 3D model
We send a detailed quote and, for bespoke pieces, a 3D model rendered from your chosen design and specifications so you can see exactly how the finished piece will look — proportions, setting style, and finish — before anything is made. You can request adjustments at this stage. Nothing goes into production until you approve the model.
4. We craft and deliver
Once approved, our jewellers at the Deira atelier begin production. Most pieces are completed within one to two weeks, depending on complexity — an intricate diamond setting or a fully custom design may take longer than a simpler piece. We deliver insured across the UAE, or you're welcome to view and collect the finished piece in person at our atelier by appointment.
What does custom jewellery cost?
There is no fixed answer — price depends on the metal and karat, the piece's weight, the stone (and whether it's natural or lab-grown), and how complex the design is. That is exactly why we quote each piece individually after understanding what you want, and confirm the price before you commit to anything. There's no obligation at the quote stage.
Common commissions
- Engagement rings: a solitaire or halo setting in 18K gold, built around a certified diamond you choose.
- Heirloom remakes: reworking an existing piece — melting down old gold or resetting an inherited stone — into a design you'll actually wear.
- Matching sets: coordinated pieces for a wedding party or a milestone gift, built from one shared design.
- Personalised pieces: names, initials or dates worked into a pendant, ring or bracelet design.
Why build custom instead of buying off the shelf
A ready-made piece is a fixed design at a fixed price. Building custom means the karat, the stone, the setting and the sizing are all decided around what you actually want — useful for an engagement ring that needs to match a specific vision, a gift that should feel personal rather than generic, or simply because you couldn't find quite the right piece already made. The 3D model step means you're approving a design you can actually see, not guessing from a sketch.
